At the end of 2016, I had given up. I had isolated myself from everyone (including me). I went down to the basement of my apartment (which I would soon be evicted from), got a thick long extension cord, and made a noose. I hung it up, and stared at it for what felt like forever. A friend called me in the middle of this. Asked if I wanted to come by, and have some pizza. That phone call, I'm pretty sure, saved my life that night.
And thus began my long climb out of rock bottom. This album is that climb. For a year, I experienced life, all of its beauty and all of its ugly. Rather than wallowing in the ugly, this project is all about the climb out of it. It's about the process of living, of surviving, of being human. It's about being Alive.

Lewis M. is a boston-based (and Providence born) poet, beatmaker, and MC. He has performed at the Apollo Theater in NYC,
The Smithsonian, among many other venues. His beats retain a refreshingly simplified approach to hip-hop production that harkens back to the boom-bap of the 90's while remaining fresh and new.
